One-pot meals are always a good idea. They can be prepared in no time, cook themselves and require little washing up and clean up. In addition, they are usually particularly aromatic thanks to the long cooking and cooking time.
As the name suggests, with one-pot meals all the ingredients come into one pot or mold and are cooked or baked together. In the end all you have to do is taste and enjoy. The advantage: while the dish is simmering on the stove or in the oven, you have plenty of time to do other things – or simply lounge comfortably on the sofa and look forward to the meal.
So how about a delicious one-pot potato gratin soon? Preparing the creamy oven dish takes a maximum of 15 minutes, then everything goes into the oven and cooks happily. Enjoyed in the original version, the recipe only requires five ingredients that everyone usually has at home: in addition to potatoes, cream, milk, grated cheese and spices go into the dish. If you feel like variety or your fridge has more, don’t be afraid to spice up the potato gratin a little.
Vegetables of all kinds are ideal for folding under the potato slices before baking. Spring onions, leeks, finely grated zucchini and/or mushrooms are particularly tasty. For meat eaters, fried minced meat, cubes of bacon or strips of chickadee add plenty of spice to the gratin, while vegans and vegetarians can use tofu and meat alternatives. Also great: experimenting with different spices and making the one-pot dish so varied. Below you will find some ideas for designing your gratin.
Tip: If possible, be sure to use waxy potatoes. They become nice and soft when baked, but still retain their bite.
