The president of the Valladolid Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar, highlighted this Friday, during the Debate on the State of the Province, the high degree of compliance with his government program despite the effects of the pandemic, while at the same time he has blamed to the central government of the delay in the extension of the internet to rural areas, as well as the lack of secretaries.
In a plenary session that began with a minute of silence in memory of the people who lost their lives due to Covid, especially, as Íscar has indicated, for those who died in nursing homes, the president of the Provincial Institution stressed that the mandate has been totally different and more complicated “than anyone could imagine”.
Íscar, who recalled that on March 12 he created a WhatsApp group to maintain direct contact with the spokespersons of all the political groups, thanked all the parties for their willingness to work hand in hand at such a complicated time and to launch a shock plan endowed with 13 million euros and destined, mainly, for the most vulnerable people and for the most affected economic sectors.
In his speech, he also highlighted, among other initiatives, the increase in investment aimed at guaranteeing and improving the lives of residents. Thus, he explained that in the 2019-2021 period the funds allocated to social services increased by 20.9 percent and explained that Home Help, from which the waiting list was eliminated, went from 7.3 to 11 million euros, while the endowment of the Housing Plan rose more than 30 percent, to 1.4 million euros, reports Ical.
