A driver died in a serious traffic accident on a federal road in the Neu-Ulm district. A 49-year-old skidded in his car on Wednesday evening on federal highway 30 in the direction of Sending and crashed into the car of the 69-year-old driver, a police spokesman said on Thursday night. The woman’s car was thrown about 400 meters by the force of the impact. The driver lost control of his car shortly before the collision, presumably because of a wet road, the spokesman said. It is not yet clear whether the driver’s car was in the same direction as the person who caused the accident or in oncoming traffic.
Attempts to revive the emergency doctors failed – the 69-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. Further details about the property damage were not initially known. The salvage work on the B30 at the Neu-Ulm junction in the direction of Sending continued during the night.
