Brewery workers in Bavaria went on strike on Monday. The NGG union has called for warning strikes across Bavaria in the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations, as announced on Sunday. The walkout is expected to last up to 24 hours. The central rally is planned in Munich.

The NGG demands twelve percent more wages and additional improvements for trainees for the more than 10,000 brewery employees in the Free State with a term of the collective agreement of twelve months. But consumers needn’t worry about the sharp rise in beer prices as a result, stressed the union’s negotiator, Mustafa Öz. The share of labor costs in the price of beer is too small for this.
