At the end of the group stage in the Champions League, the VfL Wolfsburg footballers ended the last game of the year with a clear victory. The Wolves defeated the Austrian club SKN St. Pölten 8:2 (3:0) on Thursday evening and secured the group victory. The women from Lower Saxony had already made it clear that they had reached the quarter-finals after the fourth group game.

The Wolfsburg women had to do without coach Tommy Stroot and national player Lena Oberdorf. The assistant coach team responsible for Sabrina Eckhoff and ex-DFB player Kim Kulig saw how Lena Lattwein (5th minute) and Marina Hegering (38th) scored the first two goals, which is well worth seeing. Captain Svenja Huth (40th) increased shortly afterwards. Ewa Pajor (56th), Tabea Waßmuth (67th), Pia-Sophie Wolter (74th/76th) and Pauline Bremer (85th) ensured the clear result.

The German champions crowned a very successful year with championship, cup victory and participation in the semi-finals of the Champions League – overall, the Lower Saxony conceded only one defeat during this time.
