May was “The Pruny Month of Europe”. It was celebrated by the Cestas twinning group at several events that were open to all.

An exhibition in the hall at the town hall gathered the work of primary school classes on the topic of European countries, from Thursday 12 May to Friday 20 Mai.

Thursday, May 19, Nora Fingscheidt, a German director, showed “Benni” at the Rex cinema. There was a discussion afterwards.

We found the work of schoolchildren, this time right in front of the cultural centre, on Sunday 22 May. The authors received gifts. We also discovered drawings from “The triplets”, a comic strip by Nicole Lambert, and “The playful exhibit”, which featured games and three panels that allowed us to explore the symbols, languages, and countries of Europe.

Concerning the humanitarian commission of twinning committee, they organized a solidarity sale to benefit Ukraine.

The ceremony was punctuated with speeches by members the twinning committee, representatives from the schools that participated, and MP Berangere Couillard. Cestas is home to Reinheim (Germany), Licata(Sicily), and two twins, Reinheim and Licata (Germany), as well as two partner towns, Furstenwalde and Sanok (Poland )… close to Ukraine).
