A new lawsuit has been filed against the Brandenburg State Environment Agency because of the decision to object by car manufacturer Tesla to conditions. The Frankfurt (Oder) administrative court announced on Friday that the nature conservation association and the Brandenburg Green League had complained because they had not been heard before the objection decision was issued (Az.: VG 5 K 99/23). The Strausberg-Erkner water association had previously sued the environmental agency because of a decision in the notification.
Tesla has been manufacturing electric cars in Grünheide near Berlin since last year. The company had lodged an objection to the conditions and ancillary provisions of March 2022. With a decision dated November 8, 2022, the State Office for the Environment changed some requirements, rejected some and lifted some. For example, the Strausberg-Erkner Water Association (WSE) no longer has to be involved in all groundwater-related issues. The association then filed a lawsuit against the state authority.
