Borussia Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl does not believe that the change of coach at Bayern will have a major impact on the top game in the Bundesliga between Munich and BVB. “I don’t know if FC Bayern will be better on Saturday with Thomas Tuchel than before under Julian Nagelsmann,” said Kehl on Tuesday in Dortmund. The 43-year-old added: “I don’t think that this coaching staff will necessarily affect this game, because many national players are still on the road until the middle of the week and an incredible number of training sessions cannot take place.”
Tuchel was signed on Friday as Nagelsmann’s successor and led training with the German record champions for the first time on Tuesday. He only had a small squad around the professionals who were not nominated for international matches, such as Thomas Müller or Leroy Sané. Tuchel will probably only be able to fall back on the international returnees on Friday and thus one day before the top game of the second-placed team against the leader.
