The Burgos City Council will invest 1.2 million euros in the program for the festivities of San Pedro and San Pablo 2022, more than double what was allocated in those of 2019, whose figure amounted to 500,000 euros. This has been detailed by the mayor of Burgos, Daniel de la Rosa, in the presentation of the acts, accompanied by the Councilor for Fiestas, Blanca Carpintero, which will take place from June 24 to July 2.

De la Rosa has acknowledged that “he already wanted to appear for the first time in this mandate to present a party program” in a year that he described as “normal”, after two years of pandemic, and in which the City Council, understood, «I had to make a not special but a titanic effort» to celebrate the Sampedros with a program «attractive as ever».

Likewise, he stated that the electoral commitment to “change the party model after 18 years” is fulfilled to make it “more attractive and to be an outward claim.” In this sense, he listed some of the main changes such as the change in the location of the ‘barracks’, after 16 years of provisional status, which leave the teaching estate to move them outside the urban nucleus.

Regarding the program itself, the mayor of Celebrations, Blanca Carpintero, has detailed that the first session of fireworks will be on June 24 at midnight from the Gamonal neighborhood and will consist of a pyro-musical show. The rest of the holidays, the fireworks will be launched from the central Puente Castilla at 11:30 p.m., reports Ical.

As for the musical shows, the mayor of the capital has highlighted the five different stages that will host different concerts for all audiences, some of them simultaneously. These are two large-format stages; on the one hand, the so-called ‘Welcome’, located in the ‘San Amaro’ sports complex, which will host four large-format concerts at 10 pm with symbolic prices of 5 euros, except for Tom Jones (Robe, on June 25 , Long live Sweden on the 26th, Tom Jones on the 28th and 29th of June, La FASHION).

On the other hand, the ‘Céntrico’ stage, which will be installed in Plaza Santa Teresa and whose performances will be free. Artists and groups of the stature of Ariet Rot will attend

The third of the scenarios is called ‘Excentric’ and will be found in the gardens of Platform 56, in the southern part of the city. A young urban festival will be installed there within the festivities with workshops, demonstrations and musical performances.

The fourth stage will be ‘La Escalinata’, on Valentín Palencia street, on the steps next to the Center for Contemporary Art (CAB), where numerous local artists and groups of different styles will perform from 8:00 p.m. The fifth stage will be installed in the Monastery of San Juan, in which from 8:30 p.m., there will be dance evenings every day, especially for older people.

In addition, a space called ‘Islantia’ dedicated to children and families will be installed on the Paseo and the Palacio de la Isla. From June 25 to July 2 it will become a space for children and families.
