President Markus Krapf from FC Augsburg wants to communicate openly during his term of office. “My big job is to give people the feeling that you have nothing to hide. I won’t always be able to tell everyone everything, but I won’t lie,” Krapf told the “Augsburger Allgemeine” (Wednesday). The 51-year-old has been at the helm of the struggling Bundesliga team since September, his predecessor Klaus Hofmann resigned in May.
Hofmann’s management style brought him criticism at the end of his tenure. “That made me think and I had the feeling that you have something to hide,” said Krapf. The contract of the former Augsburg press spokesman is dated until 2029. “This time is also necessary to get certain things back on track,” said Krapf. For example, he wants to buy back Hofmann’s shares in the spin-off corporation. Hofmann still holds 30.5 percent of the KGaA.
