Boardy, a professional networking platform that utilizes AI-powered voice technology to connect users with professionals in their desired network, recently secured $3 million in pre-seed funding. The funding was led by HF0, with participation from 8VC, Precursor, Afore, FJ Labs, and NextView Ventures.
Founded by CEO Andrew D’Souza, Matt Stein, Shen Sivananthan, and brothers Ankur Boyed and Abhinav Boyed, Boardy aims to address the loneliness epidemic in America through human-AI collaboration. Users can simply provide their phone number to receive a call from an AI voice assistant named “Boardy,” share their current project, and be connected with the right individuals from Boardy’s network of investors, founders, and creators.
D’Souza expressed his vision for Boardy to create a future where AI enhances human connections and facilitates collaboration to solve complex issues. The team plans to use the new funding to expand the network, enhance the AI technology, and provide users with more options for networking. Despite encountering some technical challenges during its initial launch, Boardy received significant interest from users, prompting the company to transition to an invite-only model to manage user interactions effectively.
