last weekend troppede 34-year-old Maria Stjernkvist and her family up in a small forest near Køge, cut down a christmas tree and relax so 125 dollars, before they towed it home.
about the same time was a two-metre-high christmas tree delivered to Mia Rasmussen at an address in Copenhagen. She had ordered an organic christmas tree on the web. It cost her 599 dollars.
The two examples reflect fairly accurately, how different the market for christmas trees in Denmark are right now.
When the danes the next few weeks buying a total of 1.5 million christmas trees, it happens in everything from online shops and supermarkets to diy stores and forests.
And the price fluctuates relatively widely. In a review, B. T. has been made, the cost of christmas trees all between 97 and 1.499 dollars, even though this wood is typically the same: the nordmann fir. the (Get the full overview in the bottom of the article).
“the general Rule is that christmas trees are the most expensive in Copenhagen and other cities. Many in the cities are buying it in a distance where they can carry the tree home. Here, you will pay for the costs to the employees, pladsleje, fence, and light,” said Claus Jerram Christensen, director of Danish christmas trees.
But it is far from just geography, or the place you buy your christmas tree, which has influence on the price.
Many small twists and details come into play and may be worth noting, before you even go on juletræsjagt the coming weeks.
Take, for example, the quality of wood.
Some places have stores the same christmas tree for two different prices.
The cheap wood is the ugly duckling: well, the tree where træstammen is thinnest, and where the branches sits a little further from each other.
Release you to return a slightly larger amount, similar to the tree in the higher the degree the more idyllic from julefilm and images.
Then there is of course a difference in price depending on whether the tree is organic or not.
And then there’s the height.
In several shops the cost depends on how high a christmas tree, you will want to have.
In the Supermarket for example you can get a christmas tree 1.25 and 1.5 metres to 199 dollars. It must be half a meter higher, the price increases by 100 dollars.
the Extremely crucial is, however, of course, also the shop you buy the christmas tree.
you are Running a quick trip to the supermarket or home depot and throw the tree up on the roof before you drive it home, is the cost most often relatively low – all the way down to under 100 dollars.
But if you order one on the net, download it on the square or choose to trap it yourself, you will likely have to pay a little more.
however, There are exceptions.
A part of smaller, private places provides you the experience of cutting down a tree right down in the same price range, which if you buy it in a supermarket.
Maria Stjernkvist from Køge got, for example, combined a good price with familieoplevelsen to trap it yourself.
She found the site on Facebook.
But had only had to choose between a low price or a family outing, with a slightly more expensive wood, she had chosen the latter.
“The important thing for us is the entire process of taking out and trap it in the morning and run home and decorate it while we eat donuts, drink hot chocolate and hear the christmas music,” says Maria Stjernkvist:
“even Though the price has importance, I could never find to grab one in a diy store.”
For Mia Rasmussen, who ordered its organic wood on the web, and who paid more than four times as much for it compared to Mary Stjernkvist, however, there was a completely different quality to clear the purchase with a few clicks of a mouse.
“It was expensive, but it was also easy. I had to use the tree for a christmas event at my work, and there were no stalls had open yet, so I bought online and got it done anyway,” says Mia Rasmussen.
