La Maison de l’Uhabia, just a few steps from the beach with the same name, has recently opened. The intimate hotel-restaurant has 9 rooms and is located in an old white and red labourdine home from the 1930s. To reach the largest beach on Bidart at the mouth the small coastal stream, the client must only cross the street. who comes from Saint-Pee-sur-Nivelle.
Jules Dupouy and Raphaelle Abbadie put a lot into renovating this place, which had been in its original state for many years. They wanted to create a feeling of “like home” again. They have 9 bedrooms that open onto a balcony and retain the traditional charm of family homes but with a more refined decor.
There are several spaces on the ground floor: a dining room, terrace, and a patio where you can snack and have a drink before heading to the beach. You also have a petanque court, and rack for your surfboards.
There are 40 seats in the dining area and 60 on the terrace. Jules will be serving his cuisine. He was previously employed at Barbakoa as a trainer, before setting up his own business. His cooking style is a combination of wood fire, embers, barbecue. The fish comes from Saint-Jean-de-Luz’s auction. There will be 14 people welcoming customers this summer.
