In an accident involving two cars and a group of scooters in Upper Bavaria, one person died and eight others were injured. According to initial findings, two cars collided head-on on federal highway 17 in Schongau on Friday, a police spokesman said. A group of Vespa drivers driving in the immediate vicinity was also involved in the accident. One of the scooter riders died as a result of his serious injuries.
According to the police, two rescue helicopters, up to 30 rescue vehicles and around 70 firefighters were deployed. The B17 was blocked in both directions. An expert was on site to assist in investigating the exact cause of the accident.
