The “South West Super Cup” returned after two years’ absence to Pomarez. Adour Dax Basket won the event, defeating Saint-Medard in final. -en-Jalles (63-56).
Regional 1 resident, who was already the winner of Saturday’s Landes Cup, was promoted to National 3 on Saturday May 21. ADB signed an unlikely double like Hagetmau–Doazit (2000, 2012) or Dax-Gamarde (2016), 2017, and 2018. ADB, already the winner of the ESMS yesterday (87-75), started the game with a seven point lead. However, ADB did more than resist the Girondins thanks to Sebastien Dulouat who led after ten minutes (26-21).
But under the impetus of Bearnais Fauthoux – who was playing under the eyes of his sister from Basket Landes, Marine -, and of Landais Darrigand, Saint-Medard-en-Jalles moved up a gear to catch up with the ADB (36-36) at halftime.
After the break, Saint-Medard-en-Jalles passed for the first time (39-40, 24th) but ADB did not want to let go in this final (48-47, 30th). The defenses overtook the attacks, and the suspense was maintained. After several crossovers, they took control of the Landais, in particular with a Sebastien Dulouat 2 1 (55-49, 34th), and never let them go.
A last (very long) distance shot from Lifermann (63-53, 39) freed the 100 ADB supporters who were able to capsize with joy.
