Summer 2022: Baby milk is scarce in the USA, one of the most important factories in Michigan had to stop production due to pollution. In an emergency, the US Air Force initially brings 31 tons of German baby food to the United States. Like millions of US mothers, Leila Strickland, a PhD in cell biology, and food technologist Michelle Egger are concerned that they won’t be able to find infant formula in the grocery store. Both have children themselves, Strickland’s youngest child will be born in 2019.
