The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has branded as “outrageous” that the vice president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Juan García-Gallardo, of Vox, the only one with this position who, according to the Madrid leader, does not have « portfolio”, has declared that autonomy is a luxury that Spain cannot afford.
“Not having any kind of responsibility leads us to this, maybe having so much time that you don’t even appreciate governing an autonomy. I think it is a message that falls under its own weight. We are a great nation, a single nation, with 17 autonomous communities, which are the backbone of public services and give meaning to our country”, he criticized.
On the other hand, he has considered it “unnecessary” to open the debate on changing the Constitution, although he has recognized “that nobody likes it one hundred percent.”
“It has to be a matter of transfers. You open this and we are going to return to the same discontent again”, she declared in an interview on ‘Onda Cero’, collected by Ep, when asked about the Ciudadanos proposal to modify article 2 to eliminate the distinction between “nationalities and regions”.
