National soccer player Julian Brandt does not expect a quick improvement from the weakening Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. “Of course it’s not like there’s going to be a huge leap overnight,” said the BVB professional on the pay-TV channel Sky. “But step by step we have to succeed again.” Dortmund have already suffered four defeats in the ten Bundesliga games so far this season and are only eighth in the table.

“Resisting for 90 minutes – I think that’s an extreme issue for us at the moment,” said Brandt. His team must have the footballing qualities “slowly trying to get back on the pitch”. The attacker also demanded: “We have to let the sparks fly back to the fans.” BVB welcomes VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.
