On Wednesday, the first circumnavigation around the globe, which is celebrating its fifth century, will be the main attraction at the IV edition Gravite Festival sponsored CaixaBank and dedicated to the third cultural.
At 12 noon, the Teatro CajaGranada will host a concert featuring an educational concert that Gravite and members of the Andalusian Government have organized together.
Musicas Antiguas (Sirkedje) will be the star of a musical journey across the five continents. It will accompany Magallanes as well as Elcano on their special journey. The narration will also explain how the expedition managed to navigate through the stars. Enjoy a universal journey through music, history, geography, and astronomy.
At 7 pm, Jesus Lens, director at Gravite will present the novel Nobody knows’ published by Destino in conversation with Tony Gratacos. This thriller tells the story of the mistrust, envy, and betrayals between the Portuguese and Spanish. What if history is a lie? The premiere of ‘1522-2022 Magallanes Elcano, the first journey around the world’ will be performed at the CajaGranada Theater at 9:00 p.m. Free admission is available until the full capacity is reached. Jorge Rodriguez Morata’s Granada Chamber Choir will perform with many guest musicians, making it a musical journey across five continents.
