The Civil Guard has arrested a 41-year-old man, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted robbery with violence when trying to remove the cash that another man had just withdrawn from an ATM in the town of La Puebla de Almoradiel.
It happened last weekend, when the Toledo Civil Guard Service Operation Center (COS) received a notice for a robbery of a person in a bank in this town, where a man was suffering a robbery with physical violence when I was going to withdraw money from the branch.
Agents from the Civil Guard of El Toboso and Quintanar de la Orden traveled to the scene, who verified that the alleged perpetrator had been reduced after a struggle with the victim thanks to the help of a neighbor.
The civil guards detained this person, a 41-year-old man of Spanish nationality, and handed him over to the judicial authority.
To avoid being a victim of these crimes, the Civil Guard advises that when using ATMs, do not take the passwords written down, it is better to memorize them. You have to watch your surroundings and avoid taking out a lot of money at one time.
In addition, you must try to be accompanied by people you trust to sign documents or make important collections or payments, and try to use the ATMs during office opening hours and, if not possible, use the interior ATMs and block the door while stay inside.
The Civil Guard also asks to be careful if someone offers a hug, since it is a very common method of thieves, giving affection by posing as an acquaintance, a moment that they take advantage of to steal jewelry or cash.
