Agents of the National Police have arrested a 38-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of up to 142 crimes of robbery with force, mostly committed since last January in establishments, vehicles and a storage room in the Valencian districts of MarĂtim, Russafa and Patraix of the city of Valencia.
The arrest occurred this past Tuesday, when the suspect allegedly forced two commercial establishments in the city and was located with several of the effects that would have been stolen, valued at a total of 2,000 euros, including a large television, according to The National Police reported in a statement. At the time of the arrest, a screwdriver and a parrot’s beak, objects that are often used to commit this type of crime, were also seized.
The investigations of the agents of the Robbery Group of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of Valencia have allowed him to be charged with up to 142 robberies with force committed in the capital of Turia, most of them throughout this year. The thefts occurred mainly in the MarĂtim district, but also in Russafa and Patraix, both in shops and in storage rooms or vehicles.
The National Police continues with the investigations for the total clarification of the facts, for which it is not ruled out that more crimes against property can be charged.
The arrested person, of Spanish origin and with nearly seventy arrests for similar acts, has gone to court, ordering his release.
