For more than three months, the police had been unsuccessful on his trail – then the handcuffs clicked in the closet: A 41-year-old wanted with three arrest warrants was caught in Losheim am See in Saarland and is now behind bars. In the basement of a residential building, the officers discovered him standing in the locked cupboard, the police said on Monday evening. He didn’t resist. The man will probably spend the next two years in a prison, it said.
Among other things, there was an arrest warrant against the 41-year-old for possession of narcotics, as a police spokesman said. In the past few weeks, his trail has led from Saarland to the Donnersberg district in Rhineland-Palatinate and from there back to northern Saarland. On Sunday it was determined that the man was staying in a larger residential building in Losheim am See (Merzig-Wadern district). Several officers immediately surrounded the house, others searched the entire house starting from the attic. There they finally found the man in the locked wardrobe. The police also secured a stolen e-bike.
