CGT union of departmental staff has filed a one month strike notice that will go into effect May 31. A rally will be held at 9:30 AM in this context, “at the request” of agents, and it will take place right before the start of mobilization.

The union explains its decision in an open letter to Olivier Amrane (president of Ardeche), the vice-presidents, and the departmental advisors.

Why Le Teil? “Because the executive chose to relocate the social services from Teil to Meysse and thus move it away from the public (80% of those who use these services reside in Le Teil).

These claims are not finished. They also explain in the same letter that “professionals from the medico-social and social sector have been suffering for a while”. They mention that the “context is tense” as well as that “the administration was forced into closing Privas’ medical center due to a lack of staff”.

They invite those to whom the mail was addressed to come join them at 10 a.m. to give them the floor. They will be able “speak, debate, and try to convince both the agents and the population as well as other professionals present”.

The strike is also called for by the Ardeche collective of social workers in struggle on May 31st and June 1st. They will attend the Le Teil rally. On the same day, May 31st, a meeting will be held in Privas at 2 p.m. in front of Hotel du Departement in order to voice “their anger towards irresponsible policy decisions”.
