For a second consecutive day, the croupiers and dealers of the Casino de Montréal will hold a new walkout on Sunday, in front of their workplace, due to an impasse in the negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement.

Like the day before, the walkout will begin at 4 p.m. and should end at 8 p.m. Monetary issues, schedules and work organization are among the subjects of dispute between the employer and the union.

“We need more openness from the employer during the mediation sessions which will take place from next Tuesday. With the actions today and yesterday, the croupiers and croupiers demonstrate their mobilization and their determination to reach a satisfactory agreement, ”said Jean-Pierre Proulx, union representative for CUPE, in a press release.

The collective agreement for the 521 croupiers expired on March 31, 2020.
