A dog critically injured a man with bites in Geesthacht, Schleswig-Holstein. A walker discovered the injured man in a forest in the afternoon and alerted the police. The man was virtually guarded by the dog, the officials said.
Because the animal ran threateningly towards the police, it was shot. Only then could the man receive medical care. He was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to the police, the man’s identity was not yet clear.
