MADRID, 16 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Valencia CF, Anil Murthy, has revealed that they are working to renew two “reference players” such as Carlos Soler and José Luis Gayà, although the club “has its limits” and if their offer does not meet their expectations they must “let them continue with their dreams”.

“We are negotiating with the agents of Carlos Soler and Gayà to renew them. Soler and Gayà, and also their agents, know that the club has its limits. They are two international players, they are ‘top’. Both have their preferences in the renewal, but If in the end we don’t reach an agreement, we have to treat them well and let them continue with their dreams. Our preference as a club is for them to stay. They are benchmarks for the club and for the team,” he said in an interview with the entity’s official media. Valencianist.

In addition, he recalled that this season they have signed within their “economic limits.” “With CVC we have a little more room to sign, we have done everything within our possibilities to put together a competitive squad. In football sometimes it doesn’t always work. We haven’t been able to enter Europe. What will happen next year? What’s coming? We have to look at the situation with the Financial Fair Play again, I will have time to explain to the fans how we are, but the reality is that we are not in Europe and we have to make a competitive squad within our possibilities”, manifested.

In this sense, he stated that they are “working within these limitations” to make “the most competitive squad possible”. “I am optimistic because we have a technical secretariat with a very stable sports management. They are not here for the short term, but to build a long-term project. We have patience, the most important thing is to reach financial sustainability, without sustainability nothing will work “, he indicated. “I fully trust the sports management we have,” he said.

Murthy granted the interview after some audios of him were leaked at a meal to promote a solidarity event with Valencian businessmen, a maneuver that he considers “an organized movement to harm the club.” “I am very surprised and even more disappointed. There are no codes, there are no limits. It is unpleasant that anyone is recorded without their consent in a private situation (…) It is a normal conversation, it is true that in a relaxed tone, but As everyone can verify, there is no attack or disqualification towards anyone,” he said.

He also insisted that the content of said recordings is “adulterated and edited”. “The editing of my words about Carlos Soler is simply surreal, they hurt the player and the club. The audio about Gayà is also edited; they mix the idea that I said that he is a captain worthy of this club and that he wanted to fight after the loss in the final… I was KO after penalties”, he stressed.

On the other hand, he announced that another audio will be released talking about the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and its president, Luis Rubiales. “The content of these conversations is aimed at defending the interests of Valencia CF against a position of abuse by Rubiales and the Federation on the subject of the Super Cup (…) As everyone knows, we are in lawsuits and we are going to defend until the end through justice the money that belongs to us for the 2019 Super Cup and when we have to sit down to negotiate the next edition of the Super Cup, we will do it with the same mentality and firmness,” he said.

Finally, the Valencian president explained that during the meeting with the aforementioned businessmen he conveyed “the importance” of the new stadium project for the club, with “an investment of more than 450 million in the city”. “When I spoke about the solar panel project and about being the first field in the world at an environmental level, they were very surprised. They asked me what is happening with the politicians in Valencia and why there is no movement. The truth is, I am not going to hide that I am concerned with the movement of the new field, I hope that we will have new work meetings to find a solution that will be comfortable for the politicians and very good for Valencia and the city”, he concluded.
