Public institutions in New Orleans is currently hit by a huge cyber-attack that is directed against the city hall.
the Scale of the attack is yet unknown, and the message about the attack was announced over a speaker system at the town hall, where the servants were commanded to turn off and pull the plug on their computers.
It writes the local media, The New Orleans Advocate, which reports that several of the city’s websites are down.
According to Beau Tidwell, who is the spokesperson for the mayor of the town, LaToya Cantrell, started the attack shortly before 11 a.m. local time.
the town hall staff are working to identify the extent of the problem.
the City has launched its preparedness for cyber-attacks and have contacted the local police and the FBI.
the Attack is not a lone swallow in the state of Louisiana. In the middle of november, the state’s political offices hit by an attack of the nature ‘ransomware’, which encrypts data, and ‘holds them hostage’ until the being paid a ransom.
New Orleans police have also been asked to turn off their computers and remove everything from their networks.
