After the two-months of 2021 Personal Income Tax (IRPF-2021) campaign, 7,399,000 taxpayers received a refund of more than 4895 million euros. This means that they have already received 80.8% of refund requests and 73.4% amounts to be refunded.
The Agency has made an equal number of refunds as last year, despite the fact the number of refund requests received by the Agency decreased slightly to 1.6% and 1.7% respectively.
Parallel to this, over 2,966,000 tax returns were already filed with a result due to be paid (9%) for taxpayers who chose to accelerate the filing since they don’t have to make any payments until the end.
Now, the campaign has reached its third quarter. 12,990,000 taxpayers have filed their tax returns online, 164,000 more than last fiscal year (1.3%).
The campaign is expected to see 21,921,000 declarations, 0.9% more than last, and it is anticipated that 14,350,000 will grant a refund, two thirds of which and 1.1% more than the previous years, for an estimated 11,122 million euro (5.8% more). The expected deposit of 5,971,000 declarations (1.5%) is also anticipated, amounting to 13,400,000,000 euros.
