After the affair about an alleged Nazi salute at a concert in Leipzig, Ballermann singer Melanie Müller announced a break – but it didn’t last long: the 34-year-old performed twice on Friday night in Mallorca, like the ” Mallorca Zeitung” reported from the Spanish holiday island.
Only a few hours earlier, the police in Leipzig had announced the start of investigations. The aim is to determine whether Müller showed the so-called Hitler salute at the concert in Leipzig in mid-September. Müller vehemently defends himself against the allegations and distances himself from the Nazis.
“I’m physically pretty bad right now and will therefore withdraw a little for the next few days, recover and try to process the whole thing,” the singer had announced on Instagram on Wednesday evening. The mood musician canceled a performance planned for Wednesday in Dresden. But in the early hours of Friday, she first sang at 12:33 a.m. in the Ballermann discotheque Bolero in front of around 300 visitors – and then she also performed at 2:30 a.m. in the cult pub in Upper Bavaria, reported a reporter from the “Mallorca Zeitung” (MZ).
Newspaper: Müller’s credibility “decreased even more”
In Mallorca, the former jungle queen and “Celebrity Big Brother” winner in the red and silver sequined dress did without her characteristic, rousing arm movements and “Zicke Zacke” calls. There have been no incidents. In addition, Müller once again distanced himself from Nazi ideas. The credibility of the former jungle queen and “Celebrity Big Brother” winner was “even more reduced” due to the appearances shortly after the announcement of a rest break,” analyzed the MZ.
According to a police spokeswoman, the investigation against Müller is “about the suspicion of using license plates of unconstitutional organizations under Section 86a of the Criminal Code”. Specifically, it is about a video that was available to “Bild”, which should show how the singer raises her right arm a few times during a performance in mid-September. Nazi salute or a harmless, encouraging gesture to the audience? Müller asserted on Instagram: “I have nothing to do with right-wing radicals or nationalistic ideas. I condemn that in the strongest terms”. She has been doing these hand movements for eleven years. At the request of the dpa, she referred to her statement on Thursday.
On another video from the same performance on September 17 in Leipzig, radical right-wing statements from the audience could also be heard. She was “dismayed and outraged,” said Müller. She canceled the performance. In this case, too, the police are investigating.
