A racist killing spree in Buffalo rocks the United States. President Biden declares that everything will be done to “end domestic hate-fueled terrorism”. US House of Representatives Pelosi calls for stricter gun laws.
US President Joe Biden declared war on racist hatred after the fatal shooting. “We must do everything in our power to end domestic hate-fueled terrorism,” Biden said. One must now learn more about the motive, but a “racially motivated hate crime” is abhorrent for the country. “Any act of domestic terrorism, including an act committed in the name of a repugnant white nationalist ideology, is contrary to everything we stand for in America,” Trump said.
The Democratic Chair of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, also rated the attack as “domestic terrorism”. This issue needs more attention, Pelosi told CNN. Stricter gun laws are also central to the fight against such crimes.
New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul said racist ideas spread like “a virus” or “wildfire” on social media. “These theories leading to the radicalization of a young person sitting in their home are deeply frightening. And that’s something we need to address,” the governor said.
A gunman opened fire in the city of Buffalo, New York, on Saturday, killing at least ten people. The majority of the victims were black. The investigators assume a racist motive. They examined an ideological manifesto by the suspect that had appeared on the Internet, in which the 18-year-old expressed racist ideas.
