Ghislaine Maxill‘s family expressed concern for her safety following the death of Jean-Luc Brunel, model agent and was found hanged in a Paris cell.

Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking last year and was sentenced to prison. Brunel was allegedly introduced by Maxwell to billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. He was then found hanging in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019.

“It’s really disturbing,” Ian Maxwell, one Ghislaine’s brother, said to The Post. “Another death from hanging in a high security prison. My immediate reaction is shock and bewilderment.

Maxwell spoke from London, where he said that his family fears for Maxwell’s safety at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

Maxwell was convicted of sexual abuse on Dec. 29, and taken to prison along with two psychiatrists, one guard, and a guard. The entire incident was recorded on video, Maxwell’s brother stated.

“Despite her psychiatrist’s advice, she was still considered a suicide risk. They continue to wake her every 15 minutes throughout the night. Ian Maxwell stated that it was a violation of human rights and prisoner rights.

Maxwell maintained that his younger sister was not suicidal and stated that it was ironic that Epstein, Brunel and others who died from apparent suicides were not placed on suicide watch in their respective prisons. Epstein was taken off suicide watch just before his August 2019 death.

Ghislaine Maxwell (60) requested a retrial after a jury member in the case said that he used his own experiences of sexual abuse to influence his peers to reach a guilty verdict.

Bobbi Sternheim, Maxwell’s lawyer, declined to comment on Saturday.

Brunel was the founder of Karin Models in Paris and then formed MC2 Model Management together with Epstein. He was charged with securing young girls for Epstein.

The Paris prosecutor’s office stated that he was in the midst of his trial and was found hanging by his sheets in his cell at La Sante prison around 1:30 AM local time.
French prison officials told local media that there had been no breach in prison security and that an investigation was underway into the cause of
death.
