‘You are so strong’…… ‘You are so mega cool – the system fails the victims so often’ ….. ‘I stand by your side’.
The supportive welcomes flow into Cecilie Danris’ phone these days.
It happens after, to B. T. the past week have described how the 26-year-old woman in 2017 was stabbed 46 times by his ex-girlfriend, and how she has experienced failure after failure after failure from the system.
But Cecilies phone also has at one point been scary quiet.
She has received as well as one call or one e-mail from the Police, Probation, or a third authority.
No: “We are sorry that you feel let down by the system.”
No: “we are sorry that We forgot to inform about your ekskærestes of the year three times.”
No: “we Need to put our heads together and find out what we can do, so you no longer feel uncomfortable, alone and let down by the system?”
And that’s despite the fact that the Copenhagen Police to B. T. has acknowledged that they have failed in the notification of the convicted ekskærestes exit from the prison, and the like Probation have expressed their regret that She has felt so let down by the system.
“It is absolutely absurd, but I’m not surprised that I have nothing heard. I will the see the actions, but it would have been nice with a call,” says Cecilie B. T.
ever since she assaulted in 2017, fought for a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, she has felt that she was thwarted by the police, and the lack of calls does not help on the impression.
“the Police do not do a damn thing, and it has constantly been a battle with them. Kicking the he my door in the morning, so I need to protect myself,” says Cecilie.
B. T. spoke with Cecilie on Thursday morning, where she confirmed that she had not received one call or one e-mail, according to B. T., but also several other media outlets, had brought the stories of the failure, as she has felt after having been minutes away from dying in 2017.
And as we often do in a journalistic process, we took then fat in both the prison Piabet and Probation service and Police to hear, why they had not extended the hand out to Cecile the past week.
But then it went fast.
Within a few hours could B. T. give Cecilies number to both the prison and Probation service and Police, who both would like to invite her to a meeting.
‘the Copenhagen Police is in dialogue with Cecilie Danris. It is of great concern to us, that she can feel safe and secure. In addition, we are in the process of examining the progress of her case, and whether there are procedures that can be improved going forward,’ wrote the Copenhagen Police a short time after in an email.
But so easily, it must not be.
Lisbeth Jessen, who is the director of the shelter Form, call it ‘unfortunate’ that no one has contacted Cecilie the past week.
“If you sit back as wronged by the experience, that you cannot be communicated with, so it is unfortunate. But it is also always important to have with the authorities, which one can make contact. It is one of the solutions, which we would recommend,” says Lisbeth Jessen.
