Authorities said that 26 people were still missing after an Indonesian ferry crashed in the Macassar Strait. This is the area which separates Borneo and Sulawesi islands.
Djuanidi, the head of rescue services, said that the sinking occurred on Thursday due to bad weather. However, the news wasn’t known by authorities until Saturday. He also explained that the name of the person responsible for the rescue was Djuanidi, who, like many Indonesians has one name.
The ferry carried 43 passengers and ran out fuel. It was sunk by bad weather. He said that 17 people were rescued and that the search for the missing continued on Saturday.
