49ers’ Minicamp Schedule: Will Brandon Aiyuk or Christian McCaffrey Attend?

The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up to wrap up their offseason program with a two-day mandatory minicamp. Scheduled for June 4-6, the final day of on-field work will be eliminated, following recent tradition.

All eyes are on two players who have been notably absent during organized team activities (OTAs)—wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and running back Christian McCaffrey.

Aiyuk is awaiting a contract extension that could potentially make him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL. The recent $140 million extension for wide receiver Justin Jefferson by the Minnesota Vikings has set a high bar, with $110 million guaranteed.

Meanwhile, McCaffrey currently holds the title of the NFL’s highest-paid running back, averaging about $16 million per year. His absence from minicamp could have implications, though there is no confirmation that it is financially motivated.

Following this week’s mandatory minicamp, players will have a break before returning for training camp, typically starting in late July.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan and defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen are scheduled to address the media this week, with press conferences available for viewing on various platforms.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming week, all times in Pacific:
Tuesday, June 4
– 10:40 a.m. – Practice
– Approximately 12:00 p.m. – Kyle Shanahan press conference
– Select player availability after Shanahan’s conference

Wednesday, June 5
– 10:40 a.m. – Practice
– Approximately 12:00 p.m. – Nick Sorensen press conference
– Select player availability after Sorensen’s conference

The schedule is subject to change, so stay tuned for updates.
