1. FC Saarbrücken has climbed to second place in the 3rd football league for the time being. The Saarlanders won 2-0 (1-0) against Borussia Dortmund II at the start of the 5th matchday on Friday evening and now have eight points. Kasim Rabihic in the 37th minute and Kai Brünker (58th) scored the goals for coach Rüdiger Ziehl’s team.
The home side needed some warm-up time to create the first chances. Julian Günther-Schmidt (24′) only hit the side netting, Patrick Schmidt (31′) failed with a low shot at guest goalkeeper Marcel Lotka. The lead by Rabihic then gave even more security. In the end, the victory was deserved and safe.
