Sports director Kristian Walter is facing relegation-threatened second division football team Hansa Rostock after just one year. According to a report in the “Ostsee-Zeitung”, the club and the 39-year-old manager have already agreed to terminate the contract after the end of this season. There is no confirmation from FC Hansa yet.

After more than ten years in various functions at Dynamo Dresden, Walter only moved to FC Hansa in June 2023 as the successor to Martin Pieckenhagen. In Rostock, the sports director has been criticized for a long time because numerous transfers this season have not proven to be reinforcements and the team is in a direct relegation zone two game days before the end of the season. According to the report, Walter will return to Dynamo Dresden as a scout in the summer.
