A walrus that caused a stir in the town of Scarborough just before the turn of the year has reappeared in a town on England’s North Sea coast.

The adolescent walrus bull was making himself comfortable on a wooden jetty at the marina in Blyth – about 160 kilometers to the north – around midday, the British news agency PA reported on Monday.

In Scarborough, too, the animal had lolled about in the harbor and had quickly become an attraction. Thousands came to see it. The community even canceled the New Year’s Eve fireworks to avoid scaring Thor. However, the walrus slipped into the water before midnight and continued on its journey north. According to the PA report, an interested crowd quickly gathered in Blyth to take a look at the animal.

PA quoted animal rights activists as saying Thor is believed to be in transit north, stopping off on the English coast. So he is fine.
