Three people were injured in an accident on federal highway 192 near Klink (Mecklenburg Lake District) on Wednesday morning. As a police spokesman said, a 91-year-old driver suddenly drove his car into the oncoming lane.

A first oncoming car dodged and landed in a ditch. The second car turned left and collided with the senior’s oncoming car on the passenger side. The 17-year-old passenger in the car was injured.

The person who caused the accident, the driver of the second car and the passenger from the third car were injured and taken to the hospital. All three cars had to be recovered. The 91-year-old driver gave poor visibility due to the heavy rain in the dark as the cause. He is being investigated on suspicion of negligent bodily harm.

The B192, which leads to Autobahn 19 Berlin-Rostock and cannot be bypassed because of the many lakes in this section, was closed for around two hours for the rescue. Traffic jams formed. The total property damage was estimated at around 26,000 euros.
