After the bloody crime in Middle Franconia with a dead teenager and a seriously injured woman, the 17-year-old brother of the dead man is in custody. He is said to have killed his younger sister and seriously injured his mother. A police spokesman said an arrest warrant had been issued against him on Saturday.

On Friday, the police found the body of the 14-year-old boy in a house in Weisendorf near Erlangen. Officers found the seriously injured mother outside the home. Traces of blood were found on the doorbell of the neighboring house. The seriously injured mother may have tried to ask for help there.

Investigations are ongoing

It is currently being determined how the traces of blood can be assigned and how they fit into the course of the crime, said the spokesman. The investigations of the Kripo Erlangen continued. Among other things, neighbors and people close to the family were interviewed. However, many aspects of the case remained open – for example, whether there was a dispute in the family.

The police arrested the 17-year-old shortly after the body was found “near the scene of the crime”. In the course of the investigation, the suspicion against him was confirmed. According to initial police findings, the girl was probably killed by a knife. The autopsy is scheduled for Monday, the spokesman said.

Candles and flowers in remembrance

On Saturday night, candles and flowers were placed in front of the semi-detached house in the 6,800-inhabitant town where the girl died. Also on Saturday people laid roses and lit candles there. According to the first information from the police, the 41-year-old mother lived here alone with her children. The woman was taken to a hospital on Friday morning. According to the police, there is no danger to life.
