A bus crashed in the English county of Somerset on Tuesday morning in freezing temperatures. A police inspector told the British PA news agency that 54 passengers were treated by paramedics, 26 of whom were injured. So there were no fatalities.
A total of 70 people were on board when the bus overturned. The vehicle was occupied by workers on their way to a nearby nuclear power plant under construction. A motorcyclist was also involved in the accident.
On Twitter, the police called on the local population to only make trips that were absolutely necessary. The conditions were “extremely icy and dangerous,” it said on Twitter. Dozens of traffic accidents were reported within a few hours.
