The Dax continued its strong start to the year on Tuesday and climbed a little further. The leading German index increased by 0.35 percent to 15,187.07 points. The MDax for medium-sized companies went up 0.63 percent to 28,635.94 points.

The fact that the economic expectations of financial experts in Germany improved significantly more than expected in January had a supportive effect. For the first time in eleven months, they are also signaling an improvement in the economic situation. An agency report, according to which the European Central Bank could reduce the rate of interest rate hikes in March, provided at least a brief boost in the course of trading.
