Tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas is one step closer to his dream of a Grand Slam title.

The number three seeded Greek reached the semifinals in Melbourne for the fourth time in his career with a 6:3, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4 against the Czech outsider Jiri Lehecka.

There Tsitsipas meets the Russian Karen Chatschanov on Thursday as a favorite. The Olympic bronze medalist also made it into the round of the top four players after the surrender of his quarter-final opponent Sebastian Korda from the USA due to a wrist injury with a score of 7:6 (7:5), 6:3, 3:0.

Tsitsipas also continued an impressive streak: the Greek left the pitch as the winner in all six of his quarter-final matches at Grand Slam tournaments. The French Open finalist from 2021 has not yet been able to win a title in one of the four major events.
