The Prague shooter confessed to the double murder of a walker and his baby in a suicide note before the bloody act at Charles University. The letter was found in the house in Hostoun where the attacker lived with his father, a police spokesman confirmed to the news portal “Novinky.cz” on Wednesday. “We cannot currently publish what else was contained in the letter,” the spokesman added. Further investigations and witness interviews are currently underway, which we do not want to jeopardize.

A few days ago, police investigators announced that the ballistic examination of a firearm found in the student’s house had confirmed the suspicion that he could also have been responsible for this crime. This act, for no apparent reason, had shocked the Czech public even before the gun attack in Prague.

According to the current state of the investigation, before his attack on the university, the 24-year-old killed his father in the house they shared in the municipality of Hostoun west of Prague and the walker with his infant in a forest on the outskirts of Prague. On December 21st, at the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University, he shot 14 people and seriously or critically injured 25 others before killing himself. The fact that the shooter was apparently able to legally acquire an entire arsenal of weapons without the authorities arousing suspicion caused criticism. According to police, he had legally purchased eight firearms, two of which were long guns.
