The German female lugers secured a quadruple triumph in the sprint at the World Championships in Oberhof. With a lead of just a thousandth of a second, Dajana Eitberger secured the first world title of her career on her home track.

The Thuringian, who starts for RC Ilmenau, needed 26.204 seconds. Second was Julia Taubitz (WSC Oberwiesenthal/26.205) ahead of Anna Berreiter (26.232). Merle Fräbel (26.248) just missed the bronze medal.
