In a fire in a horse stable in Hamburg’s Rahlstedt district, nine horses died early Thursday morning. According to information from the “Hamburger Morgenpost” confirmed by the police, an animal was able to free itself from the stable on fire and was shot by the police to put it out of its misery. No one was injured in the fire, police said. The roof of the barn collapsed due to the fire, the fire brigade said.
The fire brigade was on site with around 40 emergency services. The remaining extinguishing work initially continued. The police could not give any information about the cause of the fire. The extent of the damage was also still unknown.
