Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck wants state aid for companies to expand capacities in Germany for the production of wind turbines or solar systems. After consultations with industry representatives, the Green politician spoke out in favor of suretyship and guarantee programs in Berlin. In the first half of 2023, Habeck also wants to present proposals for a state-subsidized industrial electricity price – the German economy complains about high energy costs in international comparison.

The aim is to make “transformation technologies” more at home in Germany again, according to Habeck. “We have to strengthen the production capacities for renewable energies and power grids in Germany and Europe. This is important for the success of the energy transition and to secure jobs and value creation in Germany and Europe.”

As stated in a key issue paper by the ministry, “Tax Credits” (tax credits) based on the US model or corresponding alternative instruments are being sought. Habeck said it was about enabling European tax depreciation. EU funds could be used for this.
