The current Peugeot 508, both a sedan and a station wagon, is one of the particularly eye-catching and eye-catching models in the European middle class. After the facelift, the front of the twin pack of 508 and 508 SW is now being presented with new LED light units and a gently tapering radiator grille in a new design. Matthias Hossann, Peugeot Design Director: “With the radical character of the new 508, PEUGEOT underlines its technological and feline identity. The ultra-flat headlights and the three-claw signature are part of a radiator grille that merges into the bumper and ensure a spectacular front end.” The modifications at the rear and in the interior are somewhat more subtle, where the controls are still around the ten inch large touchscreen rotates.

Nothing fundamental has changed with the drives. The Peugeot 4.75 meter long 508 four-door, like the 4.79 meter long SW station wagon, is still available as a diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid. The top model remains the 265 kW / 360 hp 508 Hybrid 4, whose 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbo (147 kW / 200 hp) is combined with two additional electric motors, which on the transmission and rear axle generate a further 81 kW / 110 hp and 83 kW / contribute 112 hp. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are mandatory for him. Behind them are two more plug-in hybrids with 132 kW / 180 hp and 165 kW / 225 hp, which are only driven via the front axle, but are also combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The lithium-ion battery installed in the rear has a capacity of 12.4 kWh. There is only a single-phase 3.7 kW charger as standard and a two-phase 7.4 kW version is available as an option. The battery pack is thus boosted to full capacity in 100 minutes.

Those who do not opt ??for a plug-in hybrid can choose between a 130 hp three-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.2 liters and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel also with 96 kW / 130 hp. A 218 hp four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters is also available for certain markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The new models can not only be purchased from dealers, but also purely online. The prices are likely to be at the level of the current generation.
