Five people were injured by smoke gas in a fire in a care facility in downtown Bochum on Friday. They were treated in hospitals, the fire department announced on Saturday. Several floors of the home were therefore heavily smoked and had to be ventilated. The Firefighters put out the fire.

According to the fire department, the fire broke out in a patient’s room. When emergency services arrived, no one was in the room. The residential floor was completely cleared. The cause of the fire in the room was initially unclear, according to the police on Saturday. An automatic fire alarm system triggered the alarm.
