News from Israel often seems like tiresome messages from a crisis on a continuous loop. How many times have we read about “retaliatory strikes” by the Israeli military against targets in the Gaza Strip. From “new violence” that threatens. Or about the “escalation spiral” that has once again set in motion. In addition, there are changes of government and new elections at frequent intervals, sometimes five times a year. And often in the end the same man comes out on top: Benjamin Netanyahu.

But sometimes something happens that breaks through the sobering news from the Middle East. Something so significant that it can become a big problem. Then we should take a closer look.

Like last Sunday.
