A police special task force stormed an apartment in Erfurt. The emergency services gained access to an apartment in an apartment building on Ernst-Abbe-Strasse early Wednesday morning, the police said on Wednesday morning.

Accordingly, investigations into financial blackmail led the police to the alleged suspects. In the course of the operation, it was assumed that the alleged perpetrators had at least one weapon. For this reason, according to the police, the SEK was brought in. The officers secured a so-called airsoft gun. Nobody was injured during the operation.

In the apartment, officers found three men aged 34 to 57 and a 30-year-old woman. The four suspects have been arrested. There is suspicion of attempted joint blackmail.

The night before, several perpetrators are said to have blackmailed a 30-year-old woman from Arnstadt. “In order to emphasize their demand for money, the perpetrators sent the woman, among other things, pictures showing a firearm,” said a police statement.
